The Madras High Court has stayed the release of the film 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', which was scheduled to hit screens this weekend.

A vacation judge, Justice D Hariparanthaman, stayed the release after a Chennai-based financier moved the court, saying that the producer Welgate Cinemafox Pvt Ltd had obtained a loan of Rs five lakh and was unable to settle the dues.

The financier alleged that the producer had failed to repay loans to several creditors like him and was planning to release the film clandestinely.

He also said that if the film was allowed to be released the creditors would lose their only security over the debt and requested that the Prasad Film Laboratories should be restrained from releasing prints and negatives of the film.

A children's genre movie, 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' has the musical score by Ilayaraja.
