Popular producer P L Thenappan has filed a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council alleging that Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan had remade his Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Kadhala Kadhala’ without proper permission.

“The Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Housefull’ has been ripped off from my production venture ‘Kadhala Kadhala’ directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao. I was shocked when I watched the Hindi film as nearly 60 per cent of the scenes from ‘Kadhala Kadhala’ are there,” Thenappan said.

Stating that he was in talks with Sajid Nadiadwala about selling the remake rights more than a year ago and the deal did not go through, Thenappan said he would take legal action after consulting with his lawyers and other members of the TFPC.

Meanwhile, the Bollywood producer has denied the allegations made by Thenappan and said, “I urge the public to watch both ‘Kadhala Kadhala’ and ‘Housefull’ to come to a conclusion. Even I am ready to sit with Thenappan and watch ‘Housefull’ to answer his questions.”
