The Supreme Court of India today cleared Kushboo of all charges and dismissed all the cases filed against her over her public views on pre-marital sex and live-in relationships. The bench headed by the chief justice G. Balakrishnan, Judges Deepak Varma and Chauhan dismissed all the 22 criminal cases filed against the actress.

The case against Kushboo goes back to 2005 when she stated to a magazine that pre-marital sex among youngsters should be allowed as long as they practice it safely. The star’s view invited the wrath of all sections of people accusing her for encouraging free sex among youngsters and a cluster of criminal cases were filed against her from various parts of the state.

Later the actress publicly apologised in front of television cameras claiming she never made such a statement. However today judgment is a big relief for her and that should free her once for all.
