Gautham Menon’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ is being remade in Hindi by producer Vipul Shah. John Abraham and Asin will play the lead roles played by Suriya and Jyothika in the Tamil original.

John Abraham has already started building his muscles to match the demands of the encounter specialist character. For Asin the school teacher role will be a cake walk as she has already done it in the Telugu version ‘Gharshana’.

Vipul's first choice for Asin’s role was Genelia D'Souza, but since Genelia is already doing a film opposite John Abraham, he decided to go for Asin who has already worked with him in the not-so-hit movie ‘London Dreams’.

The film will be directed by Mumbai Meri Jaan director Nishikant Kamath as Gautham Menon decided not to repeat his act one more time. Gautham has done the Telugu version with Venkatesh and Asin before. The shooting for the Hindi remake is expected to start in May.

‘Kaakha Kaakha’ is a cult classic in which artistes and technicians excelled in every department. It was a film complete in almost all respects. Will the Hindi version be able to repeat the same? A great challenge is ahead of Nishikant Kamath.
