Comedy artistes in Tamil cinema are becoming very limited. Once there were so many comedians that choosing was difficult. But now there is an absolute a scarcity for good comedians. And if you look for comedy pair you won’t find anything today. After Kovai Sarala left for Tollywood there was no body to team with a male comedian.

Now as a ray of hope a new comedy pair slowly gaining momentum. ‘Ganja’ Karuppu and Shakeela are slowly working on their way to the top to be the next Surulirajan-Sachu or Vadivelu-Kovai Sarala. The pair which created ripples in ‘Ochayee’ is again coming together for ‘Payanangal Thodarum’. After that the jodi will be seen in the film directed by Saravanan who was an assistant to Mithran K. Jawahar.
