Ajith on Thursday called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to explain the context in which he spoke those words at the CM felicitation function on February 6.
At the mega event organized by Tamil film industry Ajith said some people in the industry force the actors to attend filmy functions and events on social issues. The actor also wanted film stars be left alone and it is not their job to take a stand on public issues.
Ajiths bold words stunned the industry and when Rajinikanth gave a standing ovation after Ajiths speech it became a point of debate.
Film bodies office bearers like Radha Ravi and Rama Narayanan gave their views on that stage itself. But the issue has polarized the industry. Yesterday stunt master Jaguar Thangam filed a police complaint alleging Ajith fans damaged his property for speaking against the actor for his comments. Police registered a complaint against 15 persons, including Ajiths manager.
As the issue was becoming sensitive, Ajith met the chief minister to clarify his views.
In the evening Ajith met the CM and clarified his stand. But he described it as just a courtesy call. He also said the Chief Minister was very cordial and did not raise any queries about the speech.
Earlier in the morning super star Rajinikanth also met the CM. After the meeting with the CM, Rajinikanth again appreciated Ajith for his courage and honesty on that day. "I appreciate Ajith for his courage and honesty. He spoke his mind out. He shared his thoughts in front of the chief minister and a large gathering," the super star said.
On the allegations that his fans attacked Jauguar Thangams house Ajith said My fans will never take violence in their hands. I know them very well."
We hope the issue is settled fast.
