R Parthiban is a lyric writer too now. The actor-filmmaker has penned lyrics for all six songs in his forthcoming venture ‘Viththagan’, which has musical score by Joshua Sridhar of ‘Kadhal’ fame.

“This is the first time for me to pen six songs. Joshua Sridhar’s music is brilliant and ‘Viththagan’ would bring him back to the top league after ‘Kadhal’. All the songs have come out well and they are different from the usual stuff,” he says.

On the film, he says, “it is about a police officer who is more brainy than brawny. How he puts an end to the menace of baddies with the help of his intelligence is the knot. I play the protagonist while Poorna of ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moonramandu’ is the heroine.”

Heaping laurels on Poorna, Parthiban says, “She is a thorough professional who delivers what the director wants. She plays a Christian girl in ‘Viththagan’ who doesn’t know anything else than showering love on others.”
