Even as ‘Tamil Padam’ produced by Dayanidhi Alagiri is getting ready to hit the screens on Pongal, director of the movie C S Amudhan has spilled the beans on the flick, which is a spoof on Tamil films. “Mirchi Siva is playing a college student. His friends are ‘Venniradai’ Murthy, Manobala and M S Bhaskar. Their character names are Bharath, Siddharth and Nakul respectively. Interestingly, these veterans too are playing college students,” he says.

“The movie is a satire on Tamil films. However, we are not intended to hurt anyone. Enough care has been taken to ensure that the audience should have a hearty laugh while watching Tamil Padam,” adds the director.

On his part, producer Dayanidhi Alagiri says, “Varanam Aayiram is the first venture of Cloud Nine Movies. After that, I am happy to produce ‘Tamil Padam’. Amudhan is a talented ad-filmmaker and he would prove himself in movies too.”

Sources in the meantime say the young producer is gearing up for his next venture titled ‘Thoonganagaram’. The film will be set in the backdrop of Madurai, the stronghold Dayanidhi’s father and Union Minister M K Alagiri.
