Ad filmmaker Dinesh Kumar’s debut directorial venture ‘1977’ might have evoked lukewarm response in box offices in Tamil Nadu. But the Sarath Kumar starrer’s Telugu version has kindled enough expectations in Andhra Pradesh, it is claimed.

Says Dinesh, who is all set to commence his next project, “after winning accolades in Kerala, the action thriller is now getting ready to hit screens in Andhra. Distributors are happy about the film and expecting the release.”

Claiming that 52 prints of ‘1977’ were released in Kerala, equivalent to that of any Mammootty or Mohanlal movies, Dinesh says Malayalam film buffs enjoyed the entertainer a lot. “Stunt scenes were well received, especially,” he says.

On his forthcoming film, he says, “I have started penning the story. Other discussions are also on. The film will be a straight contrast to ‘1977’ and will provide a different kind of entertainment to viewers. An official announcement can be expected soon.”
