We know that the phrase Gandhi Kanakku is used to indicate the money which is invested or spent and that provides no returns or use. God knows how people gave our Desa Pitha’s name for this futile expenditure, as he was a man who was strict with his expenditure.

All right, stories apart! What we got to know recently is about a film that is on rolls has been titled ‘Gandhi Kanakku’. Normally a film’s title should be properly registered in the film chamber. Same way when this film was on the desk of the chamber, the committee had refused to register this title as it is little too infamous. Later when the director explained the story to the committee member the title was registered.

The film is directed by Sampath that has ‘Meesai Madhavan’ fame Ramana in the lead role.
