Cheran's ÂPokkishamÂ, produced by Nemichand Jhabak and V Hitesh, has been selected for screening at the International Film Festival in Mumbai to be held between October 30 and November 5.
The annual film festival will see film personalities from various parts of the globe taking part. Movies from various languages will be screened during the fest. This year a total of 14 Indian films have been selected.
Among them, ÂPokkisham is the only Tamil film to be screened at the event. The movie featuring Cheran and Padmapriya in the lead roles is about a sonÂs search for his fatherÂs lover. It chronicles the life of a youth, and an analysis of the changing times and its impact on human emotions, especially romance.
Says Cheran, "The film's commercial failure has affected me a lot. This entry into a prestigious film festival is certainly a big morale booster. I had put in a lot of effort to make this movie. Our team made sure the period film has a lot of details to make it more authentic by bringing alive the streets of Calcutta in the 1970s."
