Director Hari’s ‘Singam’ sees Suriya playing a rowdy police. Em...We all tried to guess his character when we saw those posters of ‘Singam’. By the way one can relate this character to the Porikki-Police character of Vikram in ‘Samy’, which was also directed by Hari. Suriya who stirred the air as an encounter specialist in ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ will be seen as a boisterous policeman soon.

Produced by Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, the first schedule of the film was in Kuttralam and Karaikudi. Now the team has camped in Pallakulam area of Tirunelveli.

According to the script a scene where criminals indulge in a gang war in front of the police station was shot. A magnificent set was erected and a part where the cars in front of the Police station were marred was shot. The stunt men did their job awfully well, but sadly gave a big deal of loss for the director. Yup, the stunt men mistook the director’s car as one of the dummy cars on the set and smashed it from top to bottom!

Just imagine the condition of the director. The poor guy even continued the shoot without disturbing the schedule...

God gracious... a real tragic-comedy, we say!
