The audio launch function of Ameer’s ‘Yogi’ is fast approaching. It’s the first time the director is taking on the lead role. Now Ameer is busy thinking on how to make the event big and different. Meanwhile Ameer’s close circle who saw the film before its re-recording has appreciated the actor-turned-director, saying ‘Yogi’ will win many awards.

On hearing about this, few distributors who are friendly with Ameer have started to rope him in as hero of the films they plan to produce. But to everyone’s surprise Ameer gave an answer. “I don’t think acting is my choice. Yogi’s script is such that anyone who acts in it will have a good scope. I don’t have any intention of acting in any film unless it is a story like ‘Yogi’ and I will continue to be a director,” he clarified.

Not just this, recently a group of youngster had met Ameer and told that they would like to start a fans’ club for him. On hearing this he got heated but he treated the youngster with good food and advised them strongly that he doesn’t like this fan’s club idea. Hmmm… so Ameer is really adamant that he doesn’t need a fan club for himself!

On the other hand when his friends asked about why he dropped the film ‘Kilinochi’ on Ezham Tamils, he gave a dejected answer. “We have lost the land in which we expected our Tamils to live happily. So where will we start the film, where to end the film and how to picturise the beauty of Eezham?”

But then, keeping all these questions apart Thangar has started a new project called ‘Tholainthu Ponavargal’ on this same line. As the film can’t be shot in Sri Lanka, he has planned to shoot it in Kerala, says the sources.
