Filmmaker S P Jananathan has revealed that he had plans to make sequels to ‘Iyarkai’, which he directed some years ago with Shaam in the lead.

Speaking at the audio launch of ‘Agam Puram’, starring Shaam, in Chennai Thursday, he hailed the actor as a hub of talent. “He is a complete hero. No film had utilised him fully so far. After I completed ‘Iyarkai’, I planned for its sequels. But the projects did not take off due to unavoidable reasons. I hope that I can start them now after the release of ‘Agam Puram’.”

Saying that he planned to make a Rs 500 crore worth movie in the production of Sivasakthi Pandian, Jananathan said the film, if made, would be an example on the usage of graphic works. “I am sad that the project too could not go on floors.”

Produced and directed by Thirumalai, Agam Puram has musical score by Sundar C Babu. The film has Meenakshi opposite Shaam. Others took part in the audio launch were actors Arya, Udhaya, FEFSI chief V C Guhanathan, producer Sivasakthi Pandian and Sun Pictures COO Hansraj Saxena.
