Director S P Jananathan’s ‘Peranmai’ will be a movie with a difference. 80% of the movie is said to be shot in forests! Jayam Ravi plays IFS officer and son of a forest native.

The director has said that the movie will bring a new action hero on the block with Jayam Ravi. The actor will be seen in never-before avatar, as a rough-and-tough guy, unlike his previous romantic characters.

His father, Editor Mohan, had asked the director to shoot few scenes to get the feel of the movie. The director readily obliged to the requested and canned few sequences and showed it to Mohan. The father was greatly impressed with the outcome and even said to have hugged the director in appreciation.

As the movie mainly revolves around forests, good amount of homework has gone into the making ‘Peranmai’. It seems the director along with Jayam Ravi visited almost 15 forest locations, including those of Dharmapuri, Selam and Nilgiri, to know about the lifestyle of the forest dwellers and the struggles they face.

The post production of ‘Peranmai’ is currently going on and its audio launch is scheduled in the second week of September. The movie’s team are planning to showcase the on-location shooting scenes during the event. The movie is bannered under Ayngaran International Productions.

Watch out for this ‘Green’ movie!
