Actor Prakash Raj simply loves cinema. If the films he produces indicate that, the actor has recently done another thing to reiterate his love for the medium.
The actor, who was originally roped in to play a baddie in the film, Mathiya Chennai, has opted out of it, citing his love for cinema as the reason. Confused?
Mathiya Chennai, a film directed by Veerasingam and Vivekanandhan, is the story of a young slum dweller who works as an assistant director. It shows how the youngster uses cinema to improve his slum. The film, reportedly, has the character of a baddie called Badri, which was originally slated to be played by Prakash Raj. On reading the complete script, the actor has refused to play the role because he is expected to say negative things about the film industry. I am part of the film industry and love being here. I cant say anything bad about it, even if it is for a film, says the actor, who has clarified that he will not do the role unless the lines are removed.
The crew of Mathiya Chennai has now offered him another role in the film, as the film features an otherwise unknown cast, and has been publicized with him as the poster boy. His original role will be played by Mahadevan. The film features new comers Jaivanth and Ramya in the lead.
