At a time when Madhurai’s only connection to cinema lies loosely in action films and aruva culture, a filmmaker is trying to show the realistic side of the town, through the film, Madhurai To Theni.

Directed by Rathibala, the film is based on a true story in Madhurai, produced by Vimal. The film stars Balam hero Arvind Vinoth in the lead role, paired with Srithika, who has also acted in 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu'.

As the film is based on a real life incident, we have ensured that we haven’t resorted to any unwanted commercial element, like glamour or Kuthu songs. The film is a beautiful love story featuring the hero and the heroine as a young couple. The film comes with a no violence tag.

The film, adds the director, is not the vision of one person but that of the entire crew of the film, which got together because they had this story in mind. Apart from the lead pair, the film also has Singamuthu, Muthukalai, Nellai Shiva, ‘Subramaniapuram’ Rasathi and other seasoned actors. Sevi composes the music while K Vimal and S Janakisonaimuthu produce the film. Rathibala is both the director and screenwriter of the movie.
