It is not often that a lyricist turns to a full fledged hero, and so it is also not often that you see so many celebrities wishing him whole-heartedly for it. National Award winning lyricist Pa Vijay has taken the plunge as a hero with ‘Gnabagangal’, for which he has penned the story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics, besides producing and acting in it.

The guests of honour for the evening included lyricists Vaali, Vairamuthu, directors Ameer, Cheran, Prabhu Solomon, Suresh Krishna, RV Udhayakumar, Bhagiyaraj, SP Muthuraman, producers AVM Saravanan, Rama Narayanan, Muralidharan, actors Sathyaraj, Jayam Ravi, Srikanth and Nicole.

While many Celebes, including Cheran, pointed out that the lyricist had struggled the hardest way to achieve success, Rama Narayanan brought it to the fore that it was not often that a lyricist brought himself in front of the camera. Vairamuthu called him a sincere hardworking artiste also while asking him to concentrate on writing as well, and not foray completely into acting.

Music for the film is by new comer James Vic, and the movie is produced by Vil Makers. Sridevika plays his love interest and the movie was shot in a record four months.
