Actor Ranjith, who has played hero in many films apart from directing his own film, 'Bhishma', is back to don the director’s hat. This time, he will be doing a remake of the Malayalam super hit 'Sallapam', which starred Dileep and Manju Warrior, giving both their careers a great fillip. The Tamil version, titled 'Rayilu', has Ranjith also playing the hero, paired with an Anglo Indian actress, Caroline.

As the title suggests. The film, the director says, will have a lot of relevance to the railway track and trains, where many scenes of the film will be canned. Shooting for the film, made at a medium budget, has already begun.

Let’s hope that 'Rayilu' gives Ranjith, husband of actress Priya Raman, the big break he deserves in Tamil cinema.
