Director Saba Rathinam, who began this year with A Aa E Ee, has proceeded with his next flick, titled 16. Mirchi Siva, who played one of the heroes in ‘Chennai-600028’ and ‘Saroja’, is all set to be launched as a solo hero in this film, which is being produced by Siva Sankar.

The movie also brings together another RJ, percussionist Darbuka Shiva, along with Mirchi Siva, Madhu Shalini a new comer, plays the heroine.

One of the highlights of the movie, avers its director, will be the songs Music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and two of the four songs in the film have already been composed. The rapport that Yuvan, director Saba and Mirchi Siva share is known, with Mirchi Siva being signed up to play the lead in Yuvan’s first production venture. Saba is to direct that yet-to-be-titled film.

Their friendship is said to have proven a boon for 16, as the songs, it is said, have turned out to be exceptional. Yuvan has also sung a number “Yaar Solli Kadhal Varuvadhu, Yaar Solli Kadhal Povadhu”, in his own inimitable style.

Shooting for the film is on at a brisk pace and the crew is said to leave next week to Kodaikanal for a shooting schedule.
