Close on the heels of completing the shoot for 'Peranmai', Jayam Ravi will commence shooting for director Ameer's 'Kannapiran'.

Ameer, who took to acting out of compulsion with 'Yogi', has almost wound up shooting for the film. Sources close to the director say that he would be back to do what he knows the best – directing films.

His next venture titled 'Kannapiran' would begin shortly. Earlier, various names were doing rounds in Kollywood for playing the lead role in 'Kannapiran'. Sources said that Suriya or his brother Karthi might act in the film. However, Ameer has confirmed that actor Jayam Ravi will be the main cast in the flick.

Confirming the news, Ravi, said, "On completing 'Peranmai', I would begin 'Kannapiran'. To be part of an Ameer film is certainly a delight. I am ready and raring to go."
