Movies based on novels are rare in Kollywood. Director Gandhi Krishna has directed a movie that has been inspired by a novel written by late writer Sujatha.

Produced by Aascar V Ravichandran, the flick is titled as 'Anandha Thandavam' which is based on Sujatha's novel titled 'Pirivom Sandhippom'.

Says the director: 'the story was written by late Sujatha about 25 years ago and I fell flat for it. I've changed it a little to suit the modern times. I've got a wonderful producer and a committed cast and crew.'

Sujatha had actually penned the dialogues for the film, and a new boy Siddharth is making his debut as the hero with Tamanna as the leading lady.

'I consider 'Anandha Thandavam' as my first film and it is a dedication to the talented writer Sujatha'.

'Prakash has come up with catchy melodies', he added.
