'I have not hurt the sentiments of any particular community with my film 'Dhanam', clarified director Siva.

"It is the tale of a woman, played by Sangeetha and the story involves prostitution. Once she gets married into a Brahmin family, problems start cropping up and the problems that she faces forms the crux of the story."

Addressing the media, Siva, a former associate of veteran director K Balachander said, 'It is a collection of incidents that occur in a woman's life. I most certainly have not hurt the sentiments of any particular community with the film."

Furthermore, Siva added, "I wanted to come up with a quality entertainer and have worked hard on the script and story."
