Cinematographer Rathnavelu has carved a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry. The man credited with several hits under his belt, has completed shooting for the Surya starrer 'Varanam Aayiram'.

Thrilled at working with Surya and Gautham Menon, he said, 'Gautham is an excellent task master. He knows exactly how to extract the best out of his technicians. The movie features Surya from the age of 17 years right up to ripe old age. We did our home work well and captured everything well on camera'.

Rathnavelu is delighted and is looking forward to working with Shankar in the Rajini starrer Robot. 'It would be a dream-come true project for me. It would be a technically rich film and everyone would love it. Intense research is being done and I am sure it would be a movie to cherish in the industry'.
