State awards for Radhika and Kushboo

Selvi, the television serial starring Radhika, has won the State government's first prize in the small screen awards category for the year 2006. The award comprises of Rs 2 lakhs, a memento and a certificate.
Kushboo was adjudged best actress for her role in the serial Kalki. The second prize has gone to Sorgam produced by AVM. Another serial, 'Alli Rajyam,' by Vikatan Tele Vistas, has won the award for the best weekly serial. Each will get Rs one lakh, a memento and a certificate.
Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will present the awards. However, the date of the award function will be announced later.
Thiruchelvam, director of the serial Kolangal, has been selected for the best achiever award. Rani Somanathan has won the lifetime achievement award. Other awardees include Prem (editing), Kiran (music director), Ravi Sankar (playback singer), Pramila (playback singer) and Eswar (trick scenes in Sindubadh).
