The 75th year celebrations of the Tamil cinema would come to close with a grand function to be held in Chennai soon in which Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will take part.

According to Sarath Kumar, president, South Indian Film Artistes Association, “Series of events including competitions for best stage plays are being organized as part of the celebrations”.

It may be recalled that a mega star nite was held at Malaysia to kick off the celebrations. The entertainment show in Chennai will see Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan taking part.
