‘Thoovaanam’ directed by Haricharan and Newton, will be screened at the Byron Bay Film Festival, Australia.

‘Thoovanam’, released in a few months ago, got rave reviews, though it did not do well at the box office. The approach of the director duo is daringly different. The movie portrays a typical modern day love. It has an unconventional and interesting climax.

The film has newcomers Nethra, Aditya, Maurya and Tushara in the main roles. The cinematography by national award winning cameraman Madhu Ambat is astonishing. The music composed by award-winning composer Isaac Thomas Kottukapally is pleasant like a gentle breeze.

Two other films made in Tamil Nadu have been selected for another international film festival. ‘My Dear Father’ and ‘Self Defence’, both by Ganesh (popularly known as Atlanta Ganesh), will be screened at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, USA. In ‘My dear Father’, the veteran actor Y. Gee. Mahendra plays the father.
