Close on the heels of reports that international cricketer S Sreesanth has been roped in to act in a Malayalam movie, a former Indian cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh has reportedly taken to acting.

A former opening batsman from Tamil Nadu, who played for Indian in several test matches and one-day international, Ramesh will don a pivotal role in director Raja's Santosh Subramaniam.

The movie is a remake of Telugu hit Bomarillu. Jeyam Ravi and Genelia play the lead roles. Prakashraj, Geetha and Kausalya are also in the cast.

Raja had urged Ramesh to act as Ravi's brother in the movie and the latter readily agreed to don the role.
