Ton up for Periyar

Periyar, a movie on the reformist leader from Tamil Nadu, directed by Gnanarajasekaran will complete its 100-day run on Wednesday.

To commemorate the occasion, a mega function has been planned in Chennai in which Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would take part and distribute trophies and shields to the cast and crew of the movie.

Produced by Liberty Creations, the movie was partially funded by Tamilnadu Government.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi evinced keen interest in the movie and was involved in making of the movie at every stage.

He watched the movie a couple of times even before its release and suggested corrections.

Sathyaraj played the title role, while the star cast included Kushboo, Jyothirmayi, Nizhalgal Ravi, S S Stanley and Vagai Chandrasekhar among others.

The movie had musical score by Vidyasagar and cinematography by Thangar Bachan.
