Fresh from the success of Mozhi, Prakash Raj will commence shooting for his next home production Vellithirai.

The movie is a remake of a recent Malayalam hit Udayanu Tharam. The Malayalam film starring Mohanlal and Srinivasan in the lead roles went on to collect huge revenue. It was a spoof on the filmdom itself.

Inspired by the storyline, Prakash Raj chose to remake the movie in Tamil. Vellithirai will feature Prithviraj in the role of Mohanlal while Prakash Raj will don the role enacted by Srinivasan. Meena had played the heroine in the original. The Tamil version would feature Gopika in the role.

Viji, who penned the dialogues for Mozhi, has been entrusted with the taste of directing the flick.

Buzz is that Prakash Raj is planning to complete the movie and release it by September.
