Director Priyadharshan has made a mark for himself directing several blockbusters in Malayalam and Hindi.

He also tried his hands in Tamil doing films like Siraichalai and Snehidiyae. After a brief interval, he is back to Kollywood to shoot for an off-beat film titled Kancheepuram. Kancheepuram is a town synonymous with the silk weavers.

Quite appropriate to the title, the movie will dwell about the plight of weavers.

Priyadharshan says, “I would commence the shooting beginning 14 July. Prakash Raj plays the lead role. The storyline and the script have come good”.

Priyadharshan also heaped laurels on Sivaji. “I was thrilled to watch the movie. A perfect entertainer and a typical Rajnikanth film”, he said.

Priyadharshan has completed directing a Hindi movie and the post-production works have commenced. It will be released this October.
