AVM Saravanan, producer of Rajinikanth-starrer Sivaji, has denied reports appeared in a section of the press that the movie would be telecast on 15 August on satellite channel.

Addressing media persons, Saravanan said, “The television rights of Sivaji had been sold to a private television channel, which would become operational from Independence Day”.

“However there is no iota of truth in the reports that the channel would telecast the movie on its inaugural day itself,” he added.

Saravanan said, “We are bound by the rules and regulations of the Tamil Film Producers Council that stipulate that no new movie can be telecast within a couple of years of its release on any satellite channel”.

The film directed by Shankar is scheduled for release on 15 June. Produced by AVM in its diamond jubilee year, Sivaji has Rajinikanth, Shriya, Suman and Vivek among others in the lead roles.

Music is by A R Rahman and cinematography by K V Anand. Ever since the movie hit the floors, hype and expectations have been on a high.
