It's indeed a very happy birthday for Karthi, son of actor Sivakumar and younger sibling of actor Suriya.

The huge success of his maiden venture on screen Paruthi Veeran has propelled him to stardom. However not carried away by success is Karthi.

He had his formal training in direction under the baton of Manirathinam. But thanks to director Ameer, Karthi has pitch forked into acting and played to perfection the hero in Paruthi Veeran.

Karthi says, “I was not planning to get into acting, but when Ameer approached me, I readily accepted. My father and brother too supported me in my decision”.

A MS graduate in Industrial Sciences from the USA, Karthi is wary of inevitable comparisons with his dad and brother being made in the industry.

“I have just made my beginning and I feel it is too early to expect me to emulate my father and brother on the screen”.

Hope his scale greater heights in his next birthday.
