When actresses aspire to do heroine-oriented movies, Sangeetha is a rare exception.

She says, “I shy away from doing heroine-dominated subjects.”

Her strong portrayal in Uyir won her mixed reviews. She is currently playing a commercial sex worker in Dhanam and a movie opposite Madhavan titled Evano Oruvan.

Says Sangeetha, “Once Uyir created a controversy, I had several offers coming my way with prominence to my character. However, I avoided them purposefully. Acting in a heroine-oriented film is a tough job. The responsibility and the pressures are more for the heroine. A failure would mean an end to her career.”

“Dhanam is one of the interesting scripts that I came across. It centers around me. Otherwise, I prefer to play a routine heroine,” she adds.
