Karthi (veteran actor Sivakumar's son) on Friday lodged a complaint at the Chennai Police Commission’s office stating that pirated VCDs and DVDs of his new film Paruthi Veeran were being sold in various parts of the city. Karthi called on the Assistant Commissioner of Chennai Central Crime Branch and forwarded the complaint.

Talking to media persons, Karthi said that in various parts of the Chennai city, these pirated VCDs and DVDs are making good sales. “It would hamper the prospects of the movie which has opened big,” he said.

The State government has been initiating strict action on those selling pirated VCD’s and the anti-piracy police team has made several arrests in the last couple of months.
