Thilakan and Mohanlal enacted the father and son’s roles respectively in the runaway hit in Malayalam, Spatikam. Veeraappu, which is inspired by this film, stars Prakash Raj and Sundar C and Prakash Raj plays the father of Sundar C in this film.

This film is woven around the relationship between a father and son. Parents, especially fathers, cherish dreams of their son’s career and nourish certain aspirations for their son. But, more often than not, the sons take a different direction altogether. This forms the core theme of the film.

Gopika plays the love interest of Sundar C in this film. Vivek, Santhanam, Sumithra, Thejashree and many others form the supporting cast.

KS Selvaraj is the cinematographer of this film and music is by D Imman. Screenplay, dialogues and direction is by Badri, who has assisted Sundar C in direction earlier.

Krishnamoorthy Vijayakumar and Sujatha Vijayakumar are the producers of this flick.

The film started rolling in Tirunelveli and it will continue in many scenic locations in Kutralam, Papanasam, Thenkasi, Ambasamudram and Kerala. Songs are planned to be shot in New Zealand and Australia.
