With Ajith’s Aalwar ready for a Pongal release, the actor has commenced shooting for Kireedom. The movie commenced at Rajahmundry last week with a song sequence being shot.

Vijay, a debutant director and son of producer A L Azhagappan, is wielding the megaphone for the movie.

A peppy song set to tunes by G V Prakash was shot at Rajahmundry. Kireedom features Raj Kiran, Vivek, Saranya and V M C Haneefa among others.

Vijay said, “We are planning to complete the shooting in one go. The movie would be shot at Vizag, Arakuveli and Pollachi. Though the storyline is inspired by the Malayalam classic Kireedom, we have made enough changes in the script to suit the Tamil audience.”

The movie would be released on 1 May (Ajith’s birthday).
