Dhanush's Desiya Nedunchalai went to floors on Thursday. It was initially slated to be produced by Salem Chandrasekhar. Now Dr Vimala Geetha (Dhanush's sister) is producing the film.

The movie features Dhanush in the lead role and search for a heroine is on. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the movie would be directed by debutant Vettrimaran. Ekambaram cranks the camera.

With Tamil month Marghazhi ahead, which is considered inauspicious to commence new ventures, the production house has opted to go in for the launch in a hurry without much fanfare.

According to Vettrimaran, “It is an action-based entertainer and would have a racy storyline and screenplay.” Asked whether it is a remake of Hindi hit 'Road' produced by Ramgopal Verma, Vettrimaran said, “It is an original story and has no resemblance to Road.”
