Meera Jasmine, we all know, has made a name for herself as an impish and cute girl. She has stood out in characters that have a lot of fun and humor in them.

But now anger will what she will be exuding from now on.

No, don’t get us wrong. Meera’s anger will be confined to the screen only.

Meera Jasmine is playing the cinematic equivalent of Kannagi’s role in a new Malayalam movie.

A classical interpretation of Kovalan-Kannagi story, the film is directed by Meera’s mentor Lohitha Das. That is not all, Lohitha Das has managed to incorporate all the right contemporary ideas in the script.

It will be a modern story on Kannagi, he says.

And Meera is the right choice to play the woman scorned.
