Jyothika, the numero uno actress down south, hogged limelight after her romance ended in wedlock with actor Suriya a month ago. The most celebrated wedding of the year, it witnessed who's who of the film industry taking part. Soon after the wedding, the actress called on the media to announce her decision to quit films.
This newly-wed actress is celebrating her birthday today. She made her debut in Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, directed by Priyadarshan. Then followed a cameo in Tamil flick Vaali. Her maiden film as heroine was with Poovelam Kettupar opposite Suriya. It was followed by a string of hit films including Kushi, Dumm Dumm Dumm and Snehitiye. Movies like Dhool, Kaaka Kaaka, Thirumalai and Perazhagan propelled her to stardom. Her role as Ganga in Chandramukhi won her accolades.
A recipient of several awards, Jyothika would have Mozhi and Pachai Kili Muthusaram getting released in the coming months.
