After an average outing in Mandhiran, Hamsavardhan now plays the lead role in a movie titled Piragu directed by debutant Jeeva.

An out-and-out commercial entertainer, the movie features Hamsavardhan opposite By2 fame Sunitha and Keerthi Chawla. The movie also has Rahasiya appearing for an item number.

Says Jeeva, 'I was impressed with Hamsavardhan in Mandhiran. He has right emotions. Immediately decided to do a movie with him'.

Dwelling more, he says, 'The movie is about a youth coming from a remote village to Chennai in search of a job. Unfortunately he gets caught between two dons and his life takes a different direction. With the help of Keerthi Chawla, he tries to come out of trouble'.

The major strength for the movie is a group of skilled technicians coming together. Music composer Srikanth Deva, stunt master Kanal Kannan, cinematographer Kasi Viswa and art-director Remiyan are major strength for the movie.

With a major portion of the movie completed, the director is planning for a release before Deepavali.
