Madhavan, the romantic-hero of Kollywood, is now going places. The actor, whose career is revived in Tamil with a success in Thambi, played a crucial role in Aamir Khan's Rang de Basanti. Acclaim for his performance came in the form of an offer to the pivotal role in director Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film.

Known for his offbeat and sensitive themes, Rituparno Ghosh will be directing a Bengali movie starring Madhavan and actress Konkana Sen in lead roles. What more the director has planned to dub the film in English. He has entrusted the job of penning dialogues for Hindi to Maddy himself.

Having brought up in north India, Madhavan has a good command over Hindi.

Says Maddy, 'Acting in Rituparno's film is a great experience. More over I am entrusted with an additional responsibility - that of a dialogue writer. I will do justice to my new role.'

He is acting in Manirathinam's Guru, Balasekaran's Arya and Seeman's Magizhchi.
