With just a week left for Nadigar Sangam's elections and 'Captain' Vijayakanth making his intention clear not to re-contest for the president's post, it is certain that Sarath Kumar would be elected unopposed for the post.

A host of actors and actresses have expressed their solidarity with Sarath Kumar. It is expected that he would file his nomination papers for the elections on 7 July. Contesting for other office-bearers post in Sarath Kumar's side would be the likes of Radharavi, Mano, K N Kalai among others. With Nepolean too not evincing keen interest, it looks more likely that Sarath's election would be unanimous.

A section of the artistes feel that Sarath Kumar had been with Vijayakanth in all his endeavors during his last term. They were instrumental in clearing the debts of Nadigar Sangam.
