After a dismal show in his debut venture King starring Vikram and Sneha, director Prabhu Solomon chose to bide his time. After almost a gap of three years, he chose to make a comeback with Kokki featuring Karan. A neat screenplay and gripping storyline has made Kokki get a decent collection and also rave reviews.

The audience verdict has given him the confidence to try out a subject on fantasy lines in his next venture.

On choosing an unusual title, he says, "Such names are common in villages, the small deviation is in being abbreviated from Kokkisamy. Even in the songs, you will not find him smiling. A few commercial elements were inevitable like the item number." Asked to pick just the one area where he dared to be different, it was in the treatment, said Prabhu.
