Thanks to Vijay's Aathi making it to theatres on Sunday (initially slated for release on Pongal day), Ajith's comeback film, Paramasivan, took a grand opening on Pongal day.

S A Chandrasekhara (father of Vijay), producer of Aathi, decided not to release the movie on Pongal day which meant Vijay fans returning from theatres disappointed. With no other big ventures hitting theatres on Pongal day, it was clear that Ajith's Paramasivan witnessed a big opening.

In the mofussil areas, theatres saw overflowing crowds for Paramasivan and in Chennai city, the tickets for the movie have been sold out till Tuesday.

Good reports that Paramasivan has been carrying for Ajith, it is reportedly drawing huge crowds.

A perfect beginning to the now trimmed and slim-looking Ajith's second innings.
