Taking cue from Vijay and Suriya, actor Silambarasan chose to celebrate Pongal with people in a remote village.

Silambarasan, whose Saravana is getting released this Pongal, visited Parivakkam, a village near Poonamalle on Wednesday.

He visited the place along with father Vijaya T Rajendhra. He was accorded a traditional welcome by the villagers. After exchanging pleasantries, he took off to a temple and prayed for the success of his Saravana.

Silambarasan prepared Pongal and also drove a tractor in the paddy fields in the village.

It may be recalled that Vijay had similar celebration at Nemam village while Suriya chose to celebrate Pongal with villagers in his native village Sulurpet in Coimbatore district.
