Actress Kausalya has reportedly backed out of director Harirajan's Vedakozhi.

The movie was supposed to have a three-heroine team of Mumtaz, Malavika and Kausalya.

Mumtaz was to have donned the role of a harlot's daughter running a fast food, Malavika as a medico and Kausalya was assigned to play a police officer.

At the last moment, Kausalya has backed out from the project and now her role has been taken up by actress Swathy.

Since Kausalya is busy with her commitments on small screen, she was forced to withdraw from the movie, say sources close to the actress.

Harirajan is all geared up and is committed to complete the movie in one schedule.

He says 'there is a practice prevalent in the light areas of Mumbai to kill the male infant. The travails of a boy who had escaped the gruesome act is the base and the crux of the film.'

'A good story line which I hope would click', he says.
