Thanks to a realistic portrayal in Athu Oru Kanaa Kaalam, Priya Mani has emerged one of the leading ladies in Kollywood today who can not only sparkle with glamour but also emote well.

Introduced by Bharathiraja in Kangalal Kaidhu Sei, Priyamani, says, 'I am thankful to Almighty for the way my career has so far shaped up. After Bharathiraja, I did a movie with Balu Mahendra and now with Ameer in Paruthi Veeran. All are challenging roles which have really brought the best out of me'.

Asked whether she would not do glamour roles in future, she says, 'the life span for a glamour actress is very limited. I pick my films only after listening to the story. However I feel being an actress, I should do any type of role'.

When enquired about her role in Paruthi Veeran, she says, 'I am just doing what Ameer wants me to perform on screen. I can assure you it is not your regular, run-of-the-mill kind’.
