It's now the turn of actor Vijay to face brickbats after the likes of actresses Kushboo and Suhasini Manirathnam.

A group of advocates on Monday held protests and burnt the effigy of Vijay at the Egmore Metropolitan Court premises after raising slogans condemning Vijay, actress Asin, producer A M Rathnam and director Perarasu for ‘demeaning advocates in their latest release Sivakasi’.

It may be recalled that a case was filed against the film ‘for showing advocates in a poor light’ in a court in Madurai and the hearing is posted for the third week of this month.

Urging the authorities to take action on the film, the advocates urged the government to arrest the artistes and director to put an end to the whole controversy.

Tamilnadu, these days, is proving to be a major field for protest over everything.
