Actor-director and producer Thangar Bachchan has clarified the rumors doing rounds that he was behind several protests against actress Kushboo.

In an interview to a magazine the cinematographer turned director turned actor said, 'though several fingers have been pointed at me for protests against Kushboo for her alleged remarks on pre-marital sex, I make it clear that I was not behind anything.

Men like Thirumavalavan, who is protesting against her are known to me, as both of us share same ideologies.'

Expressing his happiness at his Chidambarathil Oru Appasamy doing well, he says, 'in all my movies I have portrayed women in a dignified way.

My movies like Azhagi, Solla Marantha Kathai and the recent Chidambarathil .... are a pointer to this'.

Thangar however has a grouse against heroes who are prisoners to their images. 'They have to be more willing,' he has been quoted as saying.
